The World of Leica App: a digital companion on the grounds of the Wetzlarer Leitz-Park

The Leitz-Park in Wetzlar is the home of Leica, a company known to produce high-quality cameras and binoculars. On behalf of the Leitz-Park, Fabrik19 developed an app based on its Mobility Suite mos., which takes the visit to the park to a new level.

The ideal tool for visiting the site

Even before they enter the premises, guests can use the World of Leica app to plan their visit. Integrated into the service area of the app is information on how to get there, opening times, accessibility and the parking situation. The app’s terrain map also provides great assistance for visitors. It contains an interactive map that navigates visitors through all buildings and floors of the large campus. This happens via interaction points and helps guests to find the desired location. Individual locations can also be found using a general search function. Useful information about the individual locations, such as contact details and opening times, is also stored in the respective interaction points.

The World of Leica app provides extensive information on current exhibitions and special exhibitions at the Leica Gallery Wetzlar and the Ernst Leitz Museum. This way, visitors are always up-to-date and can find out more about the exhibitions, even before their visit. Additionally, the app provides details about the nature trail and the exhibitions that take place there at times. If guests wish to decide where to go next depending on their concerns, the app also offers an area that is divided into the categories experience, shopping and gastronomy.

Useful information for camera enthusiasts

Furthermore, visitors will find a lot of content on numerous cameras and the company’s history. Details on non-public areas of the Leitz-Park, such as the Leica Manufacture, can be found in the app as well. In the event area, visitors will find an overview of the currently planned events. Users are also presented with the possibility of being informed about new events and general news by push message or newsletter to not miss anything.

Visitors can become professional photographers themselves

A special highlight of the app is its integration into an interactive exhibition at the Ernst Leitz Museum. The permanent exhibition enables visitors to test their photographic skills themselves. Guests have the opportunity to take pictures of themselves or others in different sets with a high-quality Leica camera. These pictures can then be transferred to the app via QR code and be downloaded onto your own device. If wanted, one of the pictures can be printed out directly in the Leica Store.

The user-friendly World of Leica app is a versatile mobile application that is primarily used for planning, orientation and interaction. It can be used before, during or after a visit to the Leitz-Park. Moreover, the app impresses with a large amount of information and the always clear design. The World of Leica app is available in German and English and can be downloaded free of charge from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
