The white label app: one app, countless possibilities

The white label process enables the swift and comparatively inexpensive development of individual and personalized apps. Therefore, the white label solution is a useful option, especially for associations, publishers, clubs, and service providers that are often structured similarly. This way, they can offer their members and partners the development of an individual mobile application. This article explains what exactly a white label app is and what benefits it brings.

Apps based on the modular system

White label apps work according to the modular system. This means that the framework of the application already exists. This way, only a few steps are necessary for the adaptation of an individual app. Associations or publishers can use these ‘basic apps’ or rather the software to offer their own customers an individual app. They can fill these individual apps with content as they wish. No knowledge in app development is required. Hence, users of the white label process can utilize the expert knowledge of the developer company, but at the same time choose a comparatively fast and inexpensive option.

Industry-specific applications

The white label process is particularly useful for those service providers, associations or other collectives of the same industry or niche. Those with a consistent target group but individual users can benefit from offering the development of individual apps using the white label solution. Despite being based on the same system, the individual apps can be adapted to the needs of the respective users through configuration, branding and personalization. Thus, an individual app represents a unique selling point. Moreover, it is not apparent from the outside that the individual apps are based on the same ‘basic app’.

Evidently, the white label procedure has its merits. This method has proven particularly useful for associations, publishers and in catalog contexts. However, the use of white label apps can also be extremely lucrative in many other areas. By using our in-house Mobility Suite software, the ‘basic apps’ can be adapted to specific needs even better. At Fabrik19, we also offer to configure a suitable ‘basic app’ ourselves if required.

Individual pharmacy apps

At the beginning of the year, Fabrik19 relaunched the optimized “ApothekenApp” on behalf of apotheken.de. The app lists numerous pharmacies from all over Germany. An additional offer consists in the development of individual apps for interested pharmacies. These are developed according to the white label process and represent a unique selling point for the respective pharmacies. Individual pharmacy apps offer attractive additional functions, e.g. the so-called pollen count and a guide that informs app users about food supplements.
